National Guidelines for ASRH
Brief:
Eswatini youth population stands at 37.4%, which is a significant proportion of the country's population. They are essentially the cornerstone of development and economic growth in Eswatini, however, this cannot be realized if they are subjected to a number of relentless challenges. Chief among these are the issues of unemployment, access to all health services especially sexual reproductive health services, access to education including remaining in school and eventually accessing tertiary education to name a few.
This document is drafted in response to the above stated challenges and will ensure that we transform the standard of SRH services for all adolescents and youth towards a brighter future. Essential to ASRH is the strengthening of preventative services through health education and information; this will help adolescents and the youth to make informed decisions regarding their health. Informed health decisions have an impact in the reduction of early sexual debut, teenage pregnancy and HIV & STI’s incidence.
